The Nuclear Decommissioning Agency (NDA) came into effect on 1 April 2005, heralding a
new structure for the UK nuclear decommissioning industry and creating opportunities for
innovative organisations. The NDA’s budget for the next 3 years is £2bn per annum.
For the first time, businesses will be able to compete for the role of management
contractor at one or more of the sites presently managed by British Nuclear Group and the
UKAEA. Whilst this opportunity will not be available for another 12-18 months, it is not
too early for interested parties to start positioning themselves for success.
Lumis and its associate network are well placed to support you in preparing for these
important opportunities by providing the following services:
- Background to the UK nuclear industry
- Understanding the UK nuclear regulatory process
- Assisting in developing profitable contract structures
- Facilitation in forming successful consortiums
